02 Dec LRI Awards the 2017 Global Vision Scholarship to John Hoekstra!
On Tuesday May 9, LRI awarded the Global Vision Scholarship to John Hoekstra a graduating Senior from Timothy Christian High School in Elmhurst IL. The Global Vision Scholarship is an annual award the LRI gives to a graduating senior that has a vision for working in a global opportunity. The applicants must submit an essay along with 2 faculty recommendation letters and demonstrate need.
We had 6 applicants this year and all had excellent dreams such as helping orphans in Honduras, assisting under-developed countries with crop growth and providing physical therapy services to the poor in third world locations.
This year’s recipient John Hoekstra hopes to study youth ministries in college and then take what he learns and work with orphans in Honduras.
Paul and Tracey Jarzombek represented LRI at the awards night to present John with his scholarship award.
We wish John the best of luck as he heads off to college!!!!
